Control Unit Control Unit is Blank Plug AC Adapter supplied (Part # 09-12010-009) into Control Unit. Make sure there is power to the outlet being used. Display shows Time and Date, but is flashing "Tank #" Wait at least 2 minutes after installation before the Control Unit will get a reading from the Transducer. Plug the connector from the Transducer into the jack on the Control Unit. Use STM Link program and open the "CU Configuration" option. Make sure the "RF" option is not checked. Control Unit displays incorrect readings The Unit averages some readings over a 24-hour period; it may take up to 24 hours before the Control Unit will display an accurate reading. To check actual distances from the Transducer press the "Select" button on the Control Unit to display the "Main Screen", then press and hold the "h" button. This screen will display actual distance, in inches, from the transducer, for Liquid Level, Sludge (bottom solids) and Scum (top solids). Press the "S" on the "SEPTICwatch" logo to return to the main screen. Make sure Tank configurations, (liquid level and Transducer height) are set up correctly. Check measurements taken during Transducer installation. Use the "Tank Setup" section of the Installation Manual to confirm the dimensions were inputted into Control Unit correctly. It is important when assembling the Transducer pipe, the top and bottom coupler are pushed all the way "home" into the pipe before attaching the Transducer bracket and inserting the top and bottom sheet metal screws. Make sure the top Transducer pipe coupling "key" is inserted into the space in the top pipe bracket. See Installation Manual, figure12. Confirm that the Transducer pipe is plumb. The Transducer must be at least 18" from the walls or baffles inside the tank. Some partioned tanks may not have the sufficient clearance for the monitor to work correctly. Bottom Solids reading when there appears to be no bottom solids Check tank setup to confirm correct Transducer height. Use long probe or measuring stick to check if there is any foreign object in the bottom of the tank. If possible, remove the object or push it to the far end of the tank. The transducer must be at least 18" from any side-wall or other object in the tank. Top Solids reading where there appears to be no top solids present Make sure the transducer is pointed towards the middle of the tank, not towards the tank tee or baffle. Control Unit Resets when touched Discharge Static Electricity from your hand before touching the control unit. Static Electricity may cause the Control Unit to power cycle. My Computer does not have a Serial Port Some new computers, especially laptops, do not have a serial (DB9) port. The control unit requires a serial port for communications. You will need to purchase a Serial Port adapter. This can either be a PCI card or a USB to Serial Adapter. These items can be purchased at office supply stores and computer stores The USB to Serial adapter is also available for sale from Worldstone. Modem Operations Modem Setup Plug a working phone line into the "Phone Line" jack on the modem. To check if the phone line is active up to the modem, plug a working telephone into the "Phone" jack on the modem. A dial tone should be heard. If using the Wireless Modem Jack, (Part#13-00010-000), it is important to install the Base unit FIRST, and then install the extension unit. Also ensure that both units are securely attached to the wall outlets. See the directions inside the package for complete instructions. Make sure that the indicator lights on the front of the modem are lit. If not, check that the modem is plugged in and the power button is pushed in. |
